Farewell 2024, Hello 2025!
A special message from Susie Glauner, St. Mary’s County Arts Council Executive Director.
Dear Friends of the St. Mary's County Arts Council,
What a great year! St. Mary’s County Arts Council (SMCAC) is proud to highlight some of our 2024 accomplishments!
We opened a gallery at St. Mary’s Caring Soup Kitchen and have two more in the works with MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and the Charlotte Hall branch of the St. Mary’s County Library.
We helped complete a mural at the St. Mary’s County Health Department Health Hub and will soon have another mural completed at the Three Notch Theatre to commemorate Tulagi Place!
We also sponsored the first annual Community, Culture and Cuisine event which celebrated diverse communities in Lexington Park.
And, last but not least, we granted more than $81,000 to the arts in FY24 which supported 29 grantees and provided access to arts programming to all county residents and visitors.
And there is so much more to come! 2025 will bring a major, new capital project and even more access to arts adventures. (Details announced soon!)
The SMCAC will bring more public art, more innovative partnerships, and more exciting programs. Check out our wine label collaboration with the Port of Leonardtown Winery!
We love what we do, and we do it for you! We know art makes the fabric of our community stronger. Art brings us together, providing opportunities to share experiences and find common ground.
The Arts even boost our community’s economy—according to the Maryland State Arts Council, every dollar invested in the arts yields over twice as much in economic impact. It literally pays to support the arts!
The SMC Arts Council is on a roll, but we still need your help to reach new heights. Please consider becoming a supporter of the Arts Council (levels start at just $25). Make a one-time or annual tax-deductible donation of any amount to help us continue our community programs for 2025. Click here for our donation link.
Corporate sponsorship packages with benefits for employees will be available in 2025!
Thank you for your support and for helping us make St. Mary's County a destination for the arts!
With gratitude,
Susie Glauner, Executive Director
