Town Hall Meeting Creates Community Connections

More art activities for children. Makerspace access. Connecting with like-minded people. Community-based events for youths. Paint parties. Highlighting Piscataway art. Art map/tours in Leonardtown. Art in Lexington Manor Passive Park. ADA compliant access. Diversity and equity. Monthly jazz concerts. An Art Festival!

These were some of the many wonderful ideas and valuable feedback received from our community members at our most recent Town Hall event. A big thank you to all who joined us on September 12th, 2024, at the Lexington Park Library!

We appreciate everyone who took the time to meet our staff members, share what they would like to see in our community re: arts-related programs and opportunities, and discuss a variety of other topics.

This information and requests have been taken into consideration by St. Mary’s County Arts Council as we move forward and plan for the future. Some of the feedback aligned with the missions of our partner organizations have also been shared with them (i.e. the Town of Leonardtown, Pax MakerSpace, etc.).

Were you unable to attend but would still like to participate? Did you attend but thought of ideas/additional feedback after you left? We invite you to reply to any or all of the following questions listed below via the link here.

1) What types of arts-related programs and initiatives would you like to see?

2) How can St. Mary’s County Arts Council best serve our artists and community as a whole?

3) Are there any barriers/problems which we can help solve?

Be sure to sign up for our e-newsletter for notifications about future Town Hall meetings!
