Youth Art Month Show - March 2024

Thank you to all who joined us for the recent Opening Reception for our Youth Art Month (YAM) exhibit which opened on First Friday, March 1st. We had so many amazing artists participate!

Youth Art Month is an annual observance each March to emphasize the value of art for all children and to encourage public support for quality school art programs.

Established in 1961, YAM provides a forum for acknowledging skills that are not possible in other subjects. The Council for Art Education (CFAE), a sponsor of Youth Art Month, adopted the national theme, “Dream in Art” for this year.

Art Education develops self-esteem, appreciation of the work of others, self-expression, cooperation with others, and critical thinking skills. All of these skills are vital to the success of our future leaders – our children. Learn more about YAM here.

This exhibit at the St. Mary’s County Arts Council Gallery & Gift Shop runs for the whole month of March, 2024. Our open hours are 11 AM - 4 PM Wednesday thru Saturday. Stop by and visit us at 22660 Washington St in the heart of Downtown Leonardtown!
